Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing any panels. High voltage is present even when the oven is off.
Steps to try:
- Power reset: Turn the oven off at the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. If F1-1 returns immediately, the control or keypad is likely faulty.
- Check for stuck keys: Press each keypad button firmly one at a time. If any button feels stuck or unresponsive, the touchpad may be shorted.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel (usually by removing screws along the top or bottom of the panel). Carefully disconnect and reseat the flat ribbon cable between the touchpad and the control board. Look for corrosion, burns, or cracks.
- Isolate keypad vs. control: With power off, disconnect the keypad ribbon from the control board. Restore power briefly. If F1-1 still appears with the keypad disconnected, the electronic oven control (EOC) is bad. If the code does not appear, the keypad/touch panel is defective.
- Replace failed component: Replace the faulty EOC or touchpad assembly with a JennAir-compatible part. Transfer any wiring one connector at a time to avoid miswiring.
When to stop: If you smell burning, see scorched wiring, or are not comfortable working around live 240V circuits, stop and contact a qualified appliance technician.
