Possible Causes

Failed oven temperature sensor reading too low, Stuck bake or broil relay on control board, Miscalibrated control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: If the oven is overheating, turn off the breaker immediately and allow it to cool completely.

  • Confirm overheating: If possible, use an oven thermometer to compare actual temperature to the set temperature. If the oven is much hotter than set, suspect sensor or control.
  • Check sensor resistance: With power off, test the oven temperature sensor at room temperature (around 1050–1100 ohms). A significantly lower reading can cause the control to overheat the oven.
  • Inspect control relays: Access the control board and check if the bake or broil relay contacts are welded closed (signs of heat damage or charring).
  • Replace faulty parts: Replace the oven sensor if out of spec. If the sensor is correct but the oven still overheats or F2-1 persists, replace the EOC.
  • Recalibrate (if available): Some JennAir models allow temperature calibration in the settings menu. After replacing parts, adjust calibration if the oven is consistently off by a small amount.
