Possible Causes
Shorted broil relay on control board, Broil element staying energized, Faulty temperature sensor reading low
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power immediately if the broil element glows red when it should be off.
- Visual check: With the oven cool, start a bake cycle and observe whether the broil element cycles on when it should not. If it stays on continuously, suspect a stuck relay.
- Test sensor: Measure the oven sensor resistance at room temperature. Replace if out of specification.
- Inspect control board: Remove the control panel and inspect the broil relay on the EOC for signs of overheating or welded contacts.
- Replace EOC: If the broil relay is stuck closed or damaged, replace the electronic oven control board.
