Possible Causes

Shorted sensor element, Sensor wires shorted to chassis, Moisture or carbon tracking at sensor connector

Safety: Disconnect power before testing.

Test sensor: Remove and disconnect the sensor, then measure resistance. A very low reading (near 0 ohms) indicates a short.
Inspect wiring path: Look for melted insulation or wires touching metal along the sensor harness route.
Clean connector: If there is carbon buildup or moisture at the connector, clean with electrical contact cleaner and dry thoroughly.
Replace sensor/harness: Replace the sensor if shorted. If wiring is damaged, repair with high-temp wire or replace the harness.
