Possible Causes

Failed cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air vents, Faulty fan speed sensor or feedback circuit on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool before accessing internal components.

  • Listen for fan: When the oven is on or recently used, you should hear the cooling fan running. If silent, suspect the fan or its power supply.
  • Check vents: Inspect front and rear vents for blockages (foil, insulation, debris) that could restrict airflow.
  • Access fan: Remove the rear panel (for wall ovens, pull the unit out carefully) to access the cooling fan assembly.
  • Test fan motor: With power disconnected, check the fan motor for free rotation by hand. Use a multimeter to test for continuity across the motor terminals. An open motor must be replaced.
  • Inspect wiring and control: Verify the fan wiring harness is intact and connected to the control board. If the fan and wiring are good, the control board's fan driver circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
