Possible Causes

Failed bake element, Loose bake element terminals, Burnt wire at bake element, Failed bake relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before touching any wiring or elements.

  • Visual inspection: Look at the bake element (bottom of oven) for blisters, cracks, or breaks.
  • Check connections: Remove the rear panel or pull the element forward from inside the oven to inspect the terminals and wiring for burns.
  • Test element: Disconnect at least one wire and measure resistance across the element. A typical element reads 15–40 ohms. Infinite resistance indicates a bad element.
  • Replace element: Install a new JennAir-compatible bake element if faulty. If the element is good but still no heat, the bake relay on the control board may be defective and the EOC may need replacement.
