Oven displays F93 during self-clean; cycle aborts and door may be locked

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing the lock system.

• Check for mechanical binding:
  • Access the door lock assembly from the rear or top of the range.
  • Manually move the lock rod through its full travel; it should move smoothly.
  • Clean any grease or debris and ensure no sheet metal is rubbing the rod.
• Test motor speed and continuity:
  • With power off, measure resistance of the lock motor; compare to service manual spec (typically a few hundred ohms).
  • If the motor is within spec but moves slowly or stalls when powered, replace the door lock motor assembly.
• Check lock switch: Verify the lock position switch changes state when the rod reaches the locked position. Replace the assembly if the switch fails.
• Re-test self-clean: After repair, run a short self-clean to confirm the lock engages within normal time and F93 does not return.
