Possible Causes
Open broil element, Loose broil element connection, Failed broil relay on EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker.
- Visual inspection: Check the broil element at the top of the oven cavity for cracks or burn spots.
- Continuity test: Access the broil element terminals from the rear, disconnect wires, and measure resistance (typically 15–40 Ω). Replace the broil element if open.
- Check control output: If the element is good, the broil relay on the EOC may have failed. A qualified person can test for 240 VAC at the element when broil is commanded. If no voltage, replace the electronic oven control.
