Oven display works but oven will not start; shows "door" or lock icon

Safety first: Turn off power before accessing switches or lock assemblies.

• Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and evenly. Adjust hinges if needed.
• Test door switch: Locate the door switch in the frame, remove it, and test continuity with door open and closed. Replace the oven door switch if it does not change state.
• Inspect lock (if self-clean model): Ensure the lock lever is fully in the unlocked position. Lubricate lightly if binding (avoid excess oil).
