Kenmore
Oven Temperature Calibration Error
Oven temperature too high or too low compared to set temperature
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Drifted oven temperature sensor, Miscalibrated EOC, Poor rack placement or load, Door not sealing properly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before accessing internal components.
- Verify with thermometer: Place an oven thermometer in the center of the oven and preheat to 350°F. Compare actual temperature to setpoint over several cycles.
- Adjust calibration: Many Kenmore EOCs allow temperature offset adjustment (e.g., ±35°F) via the settings menu. Refer to the user manual and adjust as needed.
- Check sensor: If offset is large (>35°F), test and replace the oven temperature sensor if out of spec.
- Inspect door gasket: Replace a torn or flattened oven door gasket to prevent heat loss.
