Oven temperature too high or too low compared to set temperature

Safety first: Turn off power before accessing internal components.

• Verify with thermometer: Place an oven thermometer in the center of the oven and preheat to 350°F. Compare actual temperature to setpoint over several cycles.
• Adjust calibration: Many Kenmore EOCs allow temperature offset adjustment (e.g., ±35°F) via the settings menu. Refer to the user manual and adjust as needed.
• Check sensor: If offset is large (>35°F), test and replace the oven temperature sensor if out of spec.
• Inspect door gasket: Replace a torn or flattened oven door gasket to prevent heat loss.
