Possible Causes
Shorted lock motor, open motor winding, failed lock relay on control board, wiring short
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before testing the lock motor circuit.
- Measure motor resistance: Disconnect the lock motor and measure its resistance. Infinite or very low resistance indicates a bad motor.
- Inspect wiring: Check for burnt or shorted wires between the control and lock motor.
- Check control output: With extreme caution and following service manual procedures, verify the control sends voltage to the motor only when locking/unlocking.
Replace the door lock motor assembly if defective. If the motor is good but the relay is stuck or not energizing, replace the control board.
