Possible Causes
Weak bake element, partially failed broil element (used in preheat), inaccurate oven temperature sensor, control calibration off
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before inspecting elements or sensor.
- Visual check of elements: Start a bake cycle and observe the bake and broil elements. They should glow evenly. Dark spots or no glow indicate failure.
- Test element resistance: With power off, disconnect and measure resistance of bake and broil elements; compare to service specs (typically 15–40 Ω).
- Check sensor: Test oven sensor resistance at room temperature (~1080–1100 Ω). Replace if out of range.
- Calibrate temperature: Use the control's calibration feature to adjust ±30°F if the oven is consistently off by a small amount.
