Possible Causes

Open or shorted oven temperature sensor, Damaged sensor harness, Faulty connection at control board sensor input, Failed electronic control board input circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing the rear of the oven or control compartment.

  • 1. Locate the sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the small metal probe (sensor) usually mounted at the rear upper wall. Remove its mounting screws.
  • 2. Access connector: Gently pull the sensor into the cavity until the connector appears. Disconnect it and test resistance across the sensor leads with a multimeter. At room temperature, it should be around 1000–1100 Ω (check La Cornue specifications for your model).
  • 3. Replace if faulty: If the sensor is open (infinite resistance), shorted (near 0 Ω), or far from spec, install a new La Cornue-compatible sensor and reconnect.
  • 4. Inspect harness and board: If the sensor tests good, remove the rear or top panel to access the control board. Check the harness from the sensor connector to the board for damage or loose pins. Reseat the connector on the board.
  • 5. Control board diagnosis: If wiring and sensor are good but the error persists, the sensor input circuit on the electronic control board may be defective and the board should be replaced.
