Oven door remains locked after cycle completes or when oven is cool; lock icon may flash.

Safety first: Disconnect power before attempting to manually release the lock. Avoid forcing the door open to prevent damage.

• 1. Allow full cool-down: After a self-clean or high-temperature cycle, wait until the oven is completely cool. Some La Cornue models keep the door locked until a safe temperature is reached.
• 2. Power reset: Turn off the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power to see if the control resets and unlocks the door.
• 3. Manual release: Consult the user or service manual for the location of the manual door lock release (often accessible from the top or behind the control panel). Use the recommended tool to gently release the latch.
• 4. Inspect lock assembly: Remove the top or front panel to access the door lock motor and latch. Check for broken plastic parts, seized linkage, or a burned-out motor. Replace the door lock assembly if defective.
• 5. Check lock switch: Verify continuity of the lock position switch with a multimeter. A failed switch can prevent the control from recognizing the unlocked position.
