Possible Causes

Failed top oven temperature sensor, Loose or corroded sensor connector, Damaged sensor harness from top cavity to PCB, Faulty top oven sensor circuit on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Isolate the cooker from mains power before removing any panels. The top oven and grill elements can remain hot for a long time.

  • Locate the sensor: In the top oven/grill cavity, find the temperature probe at the rear or side wall. Remove the fixing screw(s) and gently pull the sensor into the cavity to access the wiring.
  • Check connections: Inspect the sensor terminals and connector for heat damage or corrosion. Clean lightly and ensure a tight fit.
  • Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare to the main oven sensor spec for your Leisure model (commonly 500–1100 Ω). Replace if open, shorted, or far out of range.
  • Inspect harness: Remove the rear panel of the cooker and trace the sensor wires to the control board. Look for chafing where the harness passes near the grill element or metal edges. Repair with high-temperature wire and proper connectors if damaged.
  • Control board check: If a known-good sensor still gives F02, the top oven sensor input on the PCB may be defective. Board replacement is recommended via a professional.
