Possible Causes

Faulty door lock motor or solenoid, Broken or misaligned door latch, Defective door closed microswitch, Wiring fault between door lock assembly and control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect the cooker from mains power. If the door is locked shut, do not force it open with tools as this can damage the glass.

  • Check door closure: Ensure the door is closing fully and the latch engages. Look for bent hinges or obstructions on the door seal.
  • Access lock assembly: On models with a pyrolytic or locking system, remove the top panel or front control panel to access the door lock mechanism. Inspect for broken plastic parts or a jammed lock arm.
  • Test microswitch: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the door closed switch while manually operating the latch. Replace the switch if it does not change state reliably.
  • Check lock motor/solenoid: Inspect the lock motor for burning or seized movement. If the motor does not move when the oven attempts to lock (with power restored briefly for testing), it may need replacement.
  • Wiring and connectors: Verify that the harness from the lock assembly to the PCB is intact and firmly connected.

If you are not comfortable working near the glass door and lock mechanism, contact a professional to avoid breakage and injury.
