Possible Causes

Failed convection (tangential) fan motor, Seized fan bearings or obstructed fan blade, Open-circuit fan motor wiring, Faulty fan relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Isolate power and allow the oven to cool. The fan blades can be sharp; wear cut-resistant gloves.

  • Check fan movement: Remove the oven shelves and back panel inside the main oven cavity to expose the fan blade. Try to spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely. If stiff or seized, the motor likely needs replacement.
  • Inspect for obstructions: Look for loose screws, foil, or food debris caught in the fan. Remove any obstruction and re-test.
  • Access motor from rear: Remove the rear cover of the cooker to access the fan motor. Check the wiring and connectors for heat damage or loose connections.
  • Test motor: With the motor disconnected, measure resistance across its terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. If you have the skills and safety equipment, you can briefly power the motor with mains (via an isolation transformer) to confirm operation, but this is best left to professionals.
  • Control board: If the motor and wiring are good but the fan never receives power in fan modes, the fan relay on the PCB may be faulty and the board will need replacement.
