Possible Causes
Failed main oven base or rear element, Loose or burnt element connections, Damaged wiring harness to element, Faulty heating relay on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate the appliance from mains. Elements can retain heat; ensure they are cool before handling.
- Check elements: In the main oven cavity, inspect the visible base and/or rear elements for breaks or hot spots. Some Leisure models have hidden base elements accessible from below or behind.
- Access terminals: Remove the rear panel to access the element terminals. Look for signs of overheating or loose spade connectors.
- Test resistance: Disconnect the element and measure its resistance. An open reading indicates a failed element. Replace with the correct Leisure-compatible part.
- Wiring inspection: Follow the wires from the element to the control board or selector switch. Repair any damaged sections using high-temperature cable and proper crimps.
- Control board: If elements and wiring are sound, the heating relay on the PCB may not be energising. Board replacement is usually required.
