Possible Causes
Failed cabinet cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air vents, Faulty overheat thermostat on control panel area, Wiring fault to cooling fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power. The cooling fan is separate from the internal convection fan and is usually located at the top rear of the cooker.
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate space around the cooker as per the Leisure installation manual. Blocked vents can cause overheating and F09 errors.
- Inspect cooling fan: Remove the top cover or rear panel to access the cooling fan. Check that the fan blades are not obstructed and can spin freely.
- Test fan operation: With the cooker re-energised and set to a low temperature (only if safe to do so), listen for the cooling fan starting. If it does not run, switch off power and test the fan motor resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- Check overheat thermostat: Locate the overheat thermostat near the control panel or top of the oven cavity. Test for continuity. A permanently open thermostat will prevent the fan from running or will shut down the oven.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace the cooling fan motor or thermostat as required. Ensure all wiring is reconnected securely and routed away from hot surfaces.
