Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the oven OFF at the breaker and allow it to sit for at least 5 minutes before working on it.
- Power reset: Flip the range/oven breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then back ON. If F1 returns immediately, continue below.
- Check for stuck keys: Lightly press each button on the control panel. If any key feels stuck or unresponsive, the touch panel may be shorted.
- Inspect for moisture/cleaner residue: Remove the upper rear cover to access the control area (with power OFF). Look for signs of liquid or corrosion on the control board and ribbon cable. Allow any moisture to dry completely and gently clean with isopropyl alcohol if needed.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Disconnect and reconnect the flat ribbon cable between the touch panel and the main PCB, ensuring it is fully seated and not damaged.
- If the error persists: The touch control panel or main PCB is likely defective. Replacement of the control panel assembly is the most common fix; if that does not resolve it, replace the main PCB.
Warning: Do not work on the unit with power applied. If you are not comfortable removing panels or handling electronic boards, contact a qualified LG technician.
