Possible Causes

Weak bake element, open convection element, faulty temperature sensor, relay failure on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before touching any internal components.

  • Check heating elements visually: Inside the oven, inspect the lower bake element and rear convection element (if equipped) for breaks, blisters, or burn marks.
  • Test elements: With power OFF and rear panel removed, disconnect element leads and check continuity with a multimeter. An open reading indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
  • Verify sensor operation: Check the oven temperature sensor resistance at room temperature (~1080 Ω). Replace if out of range.
  • Observe preheat behavior: After restoring power, start a bake cycle and watch through the door (do not touch). The bake element should glow red within a few minutes. If not, suspect the element or control relay.
  • If elements and sensor are good: The main PCB may not be energizing the elements correctly and may require replacement.

Note: Always confirm correct part numbers for LG Studio models when ordering replacement elements.
