Possible Causes
Lock motor jammed, warped latch, high residual temperature, mechanical interference in lock linkage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely.
- Wait for cooling: If the oven was recently in self-clean or high-heat mode, wait at least 1–2 hours for internal temperatures to drop; the lock may release automatically.
- Try a power reset: After cooling, restore power and attempt to start and cancel a bake cycle to prompt the lock to move.
- Manual release: If still locked, remove the top panel (power OFF) and locate the lock lever. Gently move it to the unlock position to open the door.
- Inspect and replace lock assembly: If the mechanism is stiff or damaged, replace the door lock motor assembly.
Warning: Do not force the door open; this can shatter the glass.
