Possible Causes

Shorted touchpad membrane, Failed oven control board (ERC/PCB), Moisture or contamination on keypad ribbon connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing any panels. High voltage is present even when the oven is off.

  • Power reset: Turn the range breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then back ON. Try setting BAKE again. If F1 returns quickly, the fault is likely persistent.
  • Check for stuck keys: Press each keypad button one at a time. If any button feels stuck or does not beep/respond, the touchpad membrane may be shorted.
  • Inspect keypad ribbon: Unplug the oven. Remove the back panel behind the control console. Locate the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board. Disconnect and inspect for corrosion, burns, or moisture. Clean gently with isopropyl alcohol and reseat firmly.
  • Isolate keypad vs board: With power OFF, disconnect the keypad ribbon from the control board. Restore power. If F1 appears with the keypad disconnected, the control board is likely bad. If F1 does not appear until the keypad is reconnected, the keypad/touch panel is faulty.
  • Replace failed part: Replace the touchpad assembly or the oven control board (ERC) as indicated. Transfer any overlay carefully and reconnect all harnesses before restoring power.
