Possible Causes
Open or shorted upper oven temperature sensor, Loose upper sensor harness, Faulty control board sensor input for upper cavity
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before servicing.
- Locate upper sensor: In double-oven LG models, find the sensor probe in the upper cavity back wall. Remove mounting screws and pull forward.
- Test sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature (~1080–1100 Ω). Replace if open, shorted, or out of range.
- Inspect harness: Follow the sensor wires to the control board. Check for pinched or burned wires and secure connections.
- Control board check: If the sensor and wiring are good, the upper oven sensor circuit on the control board may be defective. Replace the control board if necessary.
