Possible Causes
Open or shorted lower oven temperature sensor, Loose lower sensor harness, Faulty control board sensor input for lower cavity
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before testing.
- Locate lower sensor: In double-oven models, locate the sensor probe in the lower cavity back wall. Remove screws and pull forward.
- Measure resistance: Disconnect and test with a multimeter (~1080–1100 Ω at room temperature). Replace if out of spec.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the lower sensor to the control board for damage or loose connectors. Repair as needed.
- Replace control board if needed: If sensor and wiring are good, the lower sensor circuit on the control board may be faulty. Replace the board.
