Possible Causes
Open (broken) oven temperature sensor, Loose or disconnected sensor harness, Damaged wiring between sensor and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing internal components.
- Locate the sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the thin metal probe (oven temperature sensor) mounted on the back wall with two screws.
- Test the sensor: Remove the screws and gently pull the sensor forward to access the connector. Disconnect it and measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature, it should be ~1080–1100 Ω. If the reading is infinite (open) or far out of range, replace the sensor.
- Check harness and connector: If the sensor tests good, inspect the connector and wiring from the sensor to the control board for breaks, burns, or loose pins. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Board-side test: With power OFF, disconnect the sensor at the control board and measure resistance across the board-side harness. If open, the harness is damaged and must be repaired or replaced.
- Replace faulty part: Install a new LG-compatible oven temperature sensor if defective. Ensure the gasket seals properly to prevent heat loss.
