Possible Causes
Failed cooling fan motor, Obstructed cooling fan blades, Faulty fan relay on control board, Wiring issue to fan motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Internal metal edges can be sharp; wear cut-resistant gloves.
- Listen for fan: During operation, the internal cooling fan should run. If it is silent and F30 appears, suspect the fan circuit.
- Access fan motor: Remove the rear panel of the range or wall oven to access the cooling fan assembly.
- Inspect for obstruction: Check that the fan blades spin freely by hand and are not blocked by insulation or wiring.
- Test motor: Disconnect the fan motor connector and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open reading indicates a failed motor. Replace the fan motor if defective.
- Check voltage (advanced): With power ON and the oven calling for heat, carefully measure for proper voltage at the fan motor connector. If no voltage is present and wiring is intact, the control board relay may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
