Possible Causes
Protective oils and coatings burning off, Residual packaging material left inside, Non-oven-safe accessories emitting fumes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ventilate the area well. If you feel unwell, turn off the oven and leave the area.
- Initial burn-in: Remove all racks, manuals, and packaging. Run the oven empty at 400–450°F for 30–60 minutes with the window open and exhaust fan on.
- Inspect for packaging: Check under the racks, in the drawer, and around the elements for any remaining plastic, tape, or foam. Remove immediately.
- Check accessories: Ensure only oven-safe cookware and accessories are used.
- Persistent odor: If the smell persists after several uses, inspect insulation and wiring for signs of overheating and contact a technician.
