Possible Causes

Blocked ventilation around oven, Failed cooling fan for control area, Dust buildup on heat sinks, Control board temperature sensor fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool completely.

Ventilation and fan checks:

  • Ensure that the installation cut-out and ventilation clearances match Liebherr specifications; remove any obstructions from vents.
  • Access the top of the oven and locate the electronics cooling fan (if separate from cavity cooling fan).
  • Check that the fan spins freely and is not clogged with dust; clean carefully.
  • Test the fan motor for continuity and replace if open or noisy.

If the fan is operational and ventilation is adequate but F18 persists, the temperature sensor on the control board or the board itself may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
