Possible Causes

Burned-out convection fan motor, Jammed fan blade, Faulty fan capacitor (if fitted), Defective fan relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the oven to cool fully before working inside the cavity.

Accessing the convection fan:

  • Remove the rear internal panel of the oven cavity (usually held by several screws) to expose the convection fan and cover.
  • Check if the fan blade rotates freely by hand. If stiff or scraping, remove debris or replace the motor if the shaft is worn.
  • From the rear of the oven, access the fan motor terminals.
  • Disconnect the motor and measure resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed motor.
  • If a start capacitor is fitted inline with the motor, inspect it for bulging or leakage and test/replace as needed.

Electrical checks:

  • Inspect wiring from the control board to the fan motor for damage.
  • If the motor and wiring are good but the fan never receives voltage during a convection program, the control board relay may be faulty and require replacement.

After replacing the motor or capacitor, reassemble the rear panel, restore power, and test a convection program.
