Possible Causes
Failed top heating element, Failed bottom heating element, Failed grill element, Burnt wiring or loose terminals at element connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before touching any internal components. Heating elements can retain heat; ensure they are cool.
- Identify which function fails: Test conventional bake, fan bake, and grill (before isolating). Note which mode triggers E05 or fails to heat; this points to the specific element.
- Visual inspection: After isolating power, remove the rear panel or internal back cover (for fan element) and inspect the elements for visible breaks, blisters, or burn marks.
- Test elements with a multimeter: Disconnect each element’s terminals. Measure resistance; a typical oven element is between 20–80 Ω depending on rating. Infinite resistance indicates an open element that must be replaced.
- Check for shorts: Test each element terminal to chassis for continuity. There should be no continuity. If present, the element is shorted and must be replaced.
- Inspect wiring and terminals: Look for overheated spade connectors or discolored wires at the element ends. Replace any burnt connectors and trim back damaged wire, fitting new high-temperature terminals.
- Replace faulty element: Fit a compatible Logik top, bottom, or grill element as required. Ensure all screws and brackets are secure and terminals are tight.
