Possible Causes

Heating element shorted to chassis, Damaged mains cable or terminal block, Moisture inside elements or wiring, Faulty main control PCB causing short

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Isolate the oven and confirm there is no smell of burning. If there is smoke or strong burning smell, contact a professional immediately.

  • Visual inspection: With power off, remove the rear cover and inspect the mains terminal block, wiring harness, and elements for obvious burn marks or melted insulation.
  • Check mains cable: Ensure the supply cable is not pinched or damaged where it enters the oven. Replace if any copper is exposed or insulation is cracked.
  • Test elements to earth: Disconnect each heating element. Using a multimeter on continuity or insulation test mode, check between each element terminal and the oven chassis. Any continuity indicates a shorted element that must be replaced.
  • Dry out moisture: If the oven has recently been steam-cleaned or exposed to heavy moisture, allow it to dry for 24 hours with the door open before retesting.
  • PCB inspection: If all elements and wiring test OK, inspect the main control PCB for burnt tracks or components. A shorted PCB will need replacement.
