Possible Causes
Partially failed heating element, Faulty oven thermostat or sensor, Door seal leaking heat, Fan not circulating air properly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power before removing panels or elements. Use heat-resistant gloves when testing a hot oven.
- Preheat test: Set the oven to 200°C and time how long it takes to reach temperature. If it never reaches or takes excessively long, note which elements glow.
- Check elements visually: In grill and bake modes, observe whether all relevant elements glow evenly. A dark patch or only partial glow suggests a failing element.
- Inspect door seal: Check the rubber gasket around the door for gaps, tears, or flattening. Close the door on a strip of paper; if it pulls out easily all around, replace the seal.
- Fan operation: In fan mode, ensure the convection fan runs strongly. A weak or non-spinning fan will cause uneven and slow heating.
- Sensor/thermostat check: Compare the oven’s displayed temperature with an oven thermometer placed inside. Large discrepancies may indicate a faulty sensor or thermostat that should be replaced.
