Possible Causes
Shorted or open membrane keypad, Damaged keypad ribbon cable, Failed key input circuit on EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the control panel.
- Inspect keypad ribbon: Remove the control panel trim to access the keypad ribbon cable. Check for cracks, kinks, or burn marks. Reseat the ribbon firmly into the EOC connector.
- Check for stuck keys: With power restored, press each key individually. If any key does not respond or triggers F7, the keypad is likely defective.
- Clean contacts: With power off, you can gently clean the ribbon contacts with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free swab, then reseat.
- Replace keypad or control panel: If the ribbon is damaged or keys are unresponsive, replace the membrane keypad / control panel assembly.
- Replace EOC if keypad is good: If a known-good keypad still results in F7, replace the electronic oven control board.
When to call a technician: If you are unsure how to separate the glass/control panel without breaking it, professional service is advisable.
