Possible Causes
Control lock feature activated, Stuck or unresponsive keypad buttons, EOC misinterpreting key presses
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety note: This is usually not a hardware failure but a feature. No need to disconnect power unless keys are unresponsive.
- Disable control lock: On many Magic Chef ovens, press and hold the Lock or Clock button for 3–5 seconds until LOC disappears. Check your user manual for the exact key combination.
- Power reset: If LOC will not clear, turn off the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power and try again.
- Check keypad function: If some keys do not respond, the keypad may be failing. Inspect and possibly replace the membrane keypad / control panel.
When to call a technician: If the lock indicator will not clear and keys are non-functional, professional diagnosis of the keypad and EOC is recommended.
