Possible Causes

Tripped double-pole breaker (one leg lost), Loose or burnt power terminal block, Open thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat, Failed EOC power relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the breaker before inspecting wiring. Working on the power terminal involves lethal voltages.

  • Check breaker: Verify the range/oven breaker is a double-pole 240V breaker and both handles are fully in the ON position. Reset if tripped.
  • Inspect terminal block: With power off, remove the rear cover and inspect the main terminal block where the power cord connects. Tighten loose screws and replace any burnt terminals or wires.
  • Check thermal fuse / high-limit: Many Magic Chef ovens have a thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat on the rear or top of the oven cavity. Test for continuity and replace if open.
  • Control board: If power and safety devices are good but no elements heat, the EOC may not be sending power. Replace the electronic oven control after confirming with a wiring diagram.

When to call a technician: If you are not trained to work around 240V circuits, have a professional perform these checks.
