Possible Causes
Worn convection fan motor bearings, Obstruction in fan blades, Failed cooling fan thermostat or relay, EOC stuck fan output
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before accessing any fan components. Blades can be sharp.
- Identify the fan: Determine if the noise is from the rear convection fan or the top cooling fan near the control panel.
- Inspect for obstructions: Remove the rear interior panel (for convection) and check for loose screws, foil, or debris hitting the fan blades.
- Check fan motor: Spin the fan by hand (power off). If it feels rough or wobbly, replace the convection fan motor or cooling fan motor.
- Control issue: If the cooling fan never shuts off even when the oven is cool, the fan thermostat or EOC output may be stuck. Replace the cooling fan thermostat or electronic oven control as indicated by testing.
When to call a technician: If the oven must be removed from the cabinet to access the fan, professional help is advisable.
