Oven light does not turn on when the door is opened or when the light button is pressed on a Magic Chef oven.

Safety first: Turn off power or unplug the oven before replacing the bulb or working near the socket.

• Replace bulb: Remove the glass light cover inside the oven (usually twists off). Replace the bulb with the correct high-temperature appliance bulb rating specified for Magic Chef.
• Check door switch: If the light should come on with the door, test the door switch for continuity when pressed. Replace if faulty.
• Inspect socket and wiring: Look for burnt contacts or loose wires at the light socket. Repair or replace the oven light socket if damaged.
• Control issue: If the light is controlled by the EOC and all hardware is good, the light relay on the EOC may have failed. Replace the electronic oven control if necessary.

When to call a technician: If the glass cover is stuck or the socket is heat-damaged, professional replacement is safer.
