Possible Causes

Failed electronic oven control board, corrupted control board firmware, shorted keypad ribbon cable, power surge damage

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing any panels. High voltage is present even when the oven is off.

Steps to try:

  • Power reset: Turn the range breaker OFF for 5 minutes, then back ON. If F1-1 returns immediately, the control is likely faulty.
  • Check for stuck keys: If the model has a membrane keypad, press each key individually and see if any are unresponsive or stick. A stuck key can trigger F1-1.
  • Inspect control board: Remove the back panel behind the control console. Visually inspect the Electronic Oven Control (EOC) for burnt spots, bulged components, or corrosion on connectors.
  • Check ribbon cable: Disconnect and reseat the keypad ribbon cable at the control board. Look for cracks or discoloration on the ribbon.
  • If damage is found or code persists: Replace the EOC/control board assembly. Transfer each wire one at a time from the old board to the new one to avoid miswiring.

When to stop: If you are not comfortable working around live wiring or cannot access the control safely, contact a qualified technician.
