Possible Causes
Intermittent sensor connection, partially broken sensor lead, loose connector at control, failing EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power before accessing components.
- Wiggle test: With power OFF, unplug and replug the sensor connector at both the sensor and the control board. Ensure a snug fit.
- Check resistance cold and warm: Measure sensor resistance at room temperature, then again after gently warming the sensor with a hair dryer (do not overheat). Resistance should change smoothly without sudden jumps.
- Inspect for corrosion: Look for green/white corrosion on sensor or control connectors and clean or replace as needed.
- Replace suspect part: If readings are unstable, replace the oven temperature sensor. If sensor is stable but F4-1 persists, replace the EOC.
