Oven door will not close fully or appears misaligned

Safety First: Ensure the oven is cool before working on the door.

• Check for obstructions: Inspect the door gasket and frame for debris or warped gasket material.
• Inspect hinges: Open the door and check hinges for bending or looseness. Tighten hinge screws at the door and frame.
• Remove and reseat door: Many Maytag doors lift off the hinges at a partially open position. Remove the door, inspect hinge arms and receivers, then reinstall carefully.
• Replace hinges: If the door still sags or will not close, replace the door hinges (and hinge receivers if worn).
