Possible Causes

Open bake element, open broil element, failed EOC relay, tripped thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Disconnect power at the breaker before testing elements or opening panels.

  • Check elements visually: Inspect the bake (bottom) and broil (top) elements for breaks, blisters, or burn marks.
  • Test elements: Remove at least one wire from each element and measure resistance. A typical element reads 10–40 Ω. Infinite resistance indicates a bad element.
  • Check thermal fuse/high-limit: Access the rear of the oven and locate the thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat on the back of the cavity. Test for continuity; an open fuse will prevent heating.
  • Inspect control output: If elements and fuses are good, the EOC may not be sending power. This usually requires replacing the control board.
