Possible Causes
Open-circuit oven temperature sensor (NTC probe), Broken or burnt sensor wiring harness, Loose sensor connector at main control board, Faulty main control board sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and verify the oven is cold before working inside the cavity.
Check the temperature sensor:
- Locate the oven temperature sensor probe inside the cavity (usually on the rear wall, upper area).
- Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward to access the connector.
- Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter at room temperature (around 20–25°C). A typical Midea NTC sensor should read roughly 1000–1200 Ω at room temperature (consult your model's service data if available).
- If the reading is infinite (open) or far outside spec, replace the oven temperature sensor.
Check wiring and board connection:
- If the sensor tests good, remove the rear cover to access the main control board.
- Inspect the sensor harness from the cavity to the board for cuts, burns, or loose connectors.
- Reseat the sensor connector on the main control board.
- If wiring is intact and E1 persists, the main control board sensor circuit is likely defective and should be replaced.
