Possible Causes
Aging oven temperature sensor, Poor sensor mounting or loose screws, Main control board calibration error, Excessive heat loss through door gasket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing panels or the sensor.
Verify actual temperature:
- Place an accurate oven thermometer in the center of the oven.
- Set the oven to a known temperature (e.g., 180°C / 350°F) and compare the displayed temperature to the thermometer after preheat.
Check sensor and mounting:
- Inspect the oven temperature sensor mounting screws; tighten if loose.
- Test the sensor resistance at room temperature and at a known elevated temperature if possible.
- Replace the sensor if readings are unstable or out of spec.
Calibrate (if supported):
- Some Midea models allow temperature offset adjustment in the settings menu; adjust according to the user manual.
If fluctuations remain severe, the main control board may require replacement.
