How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Do not force the door open if it is locked during self-clean; allow the oven to cool completely.
Check door closure and latch:
- Verify the door closes fully and evenly. Look for bent hinges or obstructions on the gasket.
- Inspect the latch hook on the door and the receiver on the cabinet for damage or misalignment.
Inspect door lock assembly:
- Remove the top or rear panel (depending on model) to access the door lock motor assembly.
- Check the lock motor connector for secure fit and no corrosion.
- Manually move the lock rod (if accessible) to ensure it is not jammed.
- Test the lock motor and lock switch for continuity according to the wiring diagram (usually included behind the rear panel).
- Replace the door lock assembly if the motor does not run or the lock switch is open when locked.
After replacing or adjusting, restore power and run a short bake cycle to confirm the error is cleared.
