Possible Causes

Open lower heating element, Loose or burnt bake element terminals, Broken wiring between element and control board, Faulty bake relay on main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool.

Inspect and test the bake element:

  • Remove the oven racks and inspect the lower/bake element for visible breaks or burn spots.
  • Remove the mounting screws and pull the element forward to access the terminals.
  • Disconnect the wires and test the element for continuity with a multimeter. An open circuit means the element is bad.
  • Replace the bake element if it is open or damaged.

Check wiring and control:

  • Access the rear of the oven and inspect the wiring from the element to the main control board.
  • Repair any burnt or loose connectors.
  • If wiring and element are good, the main control board bake relay may have failed and will need replacement.
