Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor, Corroded sensor connector, Broken harness between sensor and control, Faulty analog input on electronic control
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing internal components.
- Access the sensor: Locate the temperature sensor probe inside the oven cavity. Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor into the cavity to access the connector.
- Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to Miele specifications (commonly around 1–1.5 kΩ at 20–25°C). If reading is near 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open), replace the sensor.
- Check wiring to control: If the sensor tests good, trace the harness to the electronic control module. Inspect for damage, especially at pass-through grommets. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Control board diagnosis: If sensor and wiring are correct, the control's sensor input circuit may be defective. Replacement of the control module is required.
Clear the error by disconnecting power for a few minutes after repair, then test the oven in a low-temperature mode.
