Possible Causes
Faulty touch panel or glass sensor, Moisture ingress behind control panel, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board, Defective UI electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before removing the control panel or glass fascia.
- Dry and clean the panel: Wipe the glass surface with a dry cloth. If moisture or cleaning fluid has seeped behind the panel, allow the oven to dry completely (power off) for several hours.
- Check ribbon cables: Remove the front trim to access the user interface board. Reseat the flat ribbon cables between the touch panel and main control. Ensure connectors are fully engaged and not corroded.
- Inspect for damage: Look for cracks in the glass where the touch sensors are located, or burn marks on the UI board. Replace the touch panel or UI board if damaged.
- Test operation: Restore power and test all keys. If random inputs persist, the touch panel assembly typically needs replacement.
Handle glass panels carefully to avoid breakage. If the oven is under warranty, contact Miele before disassembling the fascia.
