Child lock cannot be activated or deactivated; oven remains locked or unlocked contrary to settings.

Safety first: No internal access is required initially; work via the user interface.

• Follow manual procedure: Use the exact key sequence described in the Miele user manual to toggle the child lock. Some models require pressing and holding specific symbols for several seconds.
• Power reset: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes to reset the control. Restore power and attempt to change the lock setting again.
• Check touch keys: If the specific keys used for the lock function do not respond while others do, the touch panel may be faulty and require replacement.
• Door lock sensor: On models with a physical safety lock, verify that the door lock sensor or microswitch is functioning as described in the door lock fault section.

If the oven remains locked and cannot be opened, contact Miele service to avoid damaging the door or lock mechanism.
