Possible Causes
Weak or partially failed oven element, Faulty temperature sensor (NTC) reading high, Poor door seal causing heat loss, Miscalibrated thermostat or control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before testing components.
Steps:
- Verify with thermometer: Use an oven thermometer to compare actual temperature to the set value.
- Inspect elements: Look for cold spots or uneven glow on elements. Replace any main oven elements that are visibly damaged or reading out of spec.
- Check door seal: Inspect the oven door gasket for gaps, tears, or compression. Replace if it does not seal evenly.
- Test sensor: Measure the resistance of the temperature sensor at room temperature and at a known elevated temperature (e.g., 100°C in boiling water, if removable). Replace if readings are outside spec.
- Calibration: Some Morphy Richards models allow temperature offset adjustment in the settings menu. Adjust according to the user manual if hardware is sound.
